my newest undertaking

I plan to compile a list of all the names I stumble across that I just can't get out of my head for some reason or another.

First and foremost is Elliott Mosby, a name I saw written on a dorm room door at SPSU in Fall of 2006. Many of my inanimate objects have come to adopt this name, such as my old Dell laptop, (RIP) and my Ipod. I guard this name in my heart, and plan to one day pass it on to my kids.

Another favorite of mine is Mr. Justin Udderback, a boy I met in high school with my friend Jenna Nelson. While I have not recycled his name on my belongings I often reminisce about our summer boys (the other whose name I undoubtedly forgot), and all the free Sonic we acquired for being acquainted with Sir Udderback. (Sometimes I like to wonder at the etymology of his name, and giggle at the mental images inspired by doing so.)

From there, I have the surname Quackenbush. I found this name sometime in the winter of 2008 while working for a call center. At the time I wished very much to be betrothed to Mr. Quackenbush but to my dismay, he was already married. Instead, I have used this name to replace the "John Smith's" in all my stories and ramblings.

Recently I ran across the name of Todd Fleagle, an unfortunate soul who I wholeheartedly hope does indeed own a beagle, complete with fleas. In fact, I hope one day to own a flea-ridden beagle, solely so I can lovingly refer to him as my fleagle.

As I am one of the most easily amused people in existence, I plan on continuing my name collection until I absently mindedly forget about it (at least 2 weeks from now.)

:)

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Earlier that morning the farmers daughter had inadvertently left the gate to the yard open as she was preoccupied by her worry over a maths test set for that day. She hadn't studied for the test as she was still deeply distressed over her fathers recent heart attack. This, coupled with the added burden of household chores now delegated to her because her mother was out trying to get the west field prepared for sowing, had made her quite forgetful and distracted of late. Whilst several chickens escaped, only one strayed so far that it actually encountered the road facing the farm. After crossing the road and gorging itself in a soybean crop, the chicken was struck by a furniture removers van as it attempted to make its way home. Several hours later the dead chicken was spotted by a Community Mental Health Worker who was doing his bi-weekly rural clinic run. The chicken, being a bantam caught the eye of the Mental Health worker, who was a keen trout fisherman. "Cool" thought the mental health worker- "those feathers will make for excellent trout flies". He stopped and plucked a handful of the most iridescent blue, green and orange feathers and placed them in an envelope. He rolled himself a cigarette, sat on the trunk of his car and admired the clouds. "God, I love this job", he muttered to no one in particular.

My plans for El Weekend

[link]
I'm going to make myself a pretty dress form so I can save money on clothes! w00t! That and so I can hone my sewing skillz. I recently liberated my sewing machine from my closet & I've been feeling the urge to go homegrown.

on top of that, i have just purchased a very pretty uke, and when it comes next wednesday, i plan on mastering it (hard as that may sound...)
soon enough, i'll be famous.

lizanne, ukulele master/ clothing designer.
my life may return to interesting yet...

Those silly Norwegians sucking up again...

Really Norwegians?

I'm going to step outside my usual boundaries and take a moment to speak about politics. Mainly to say WTF?!?

Alfred Nobel stated in his will that the peace prize belongs to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"

Some of Obama's predecessors include Rigoberta Menchú Tum, Mother Teresa, Henry Dunant & Martin Luther King Jr..

I understand that Obama being elected to office was a big step for the American people, and a great accomplishment. However, during his current administration, I have seen nothing done that would qualify him among these distinguished people. I am willing to say that maybe, in the following 3+ years, he may prove himself worthy, but I think this award is just a tad bit preemptive.

Obama as "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations"

Obama "for the abolition or reduction of standing armies"

Obama "for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"

sad, yet true...
